Receipt book, 1853-1862, 1875-1888.

Records shipments received at the New Milford Station of the Delaware, Lackawana & Western R. R. Co. from 1875 to 1878. The ledger pages were set up to record delivery dates, intended recipients, articles shipped, and signatures of persons picking up deliveries. A variety of items and quantities suggest that sales for both personal users and commercial customers were shipped via the railroad. Also included are loose sheets relating to railroad business dated 1854, 1855, 1857, 1862, 1881 to 1883, and 1888.
